The Kaleidoscope Project is dedicated to enhancing and improving the places where Wake County children spend their time through a community led process.

Northeast Community Coalition
In 2005, resident community leaders from the Northeast End of Wake Forest, North Carolina came together to form the Northeast End Organization and later partnered with the Town of Wake Forest in 2007, to initiate efforts to revitalize and update various infrastructure within the community.
The coalition is currently focused on five main priorities: community events & engagement, food security & wellness, programming for families, youth and seniors and sponsorships & fundraising.

Wake County Eastern Regional Center
The Wake County Eastern Regional Center provides many services to Wake residents, including families and children.
Foster care visitation areas were enhanced with activities designed to engage families in relationship building while having fun.

Beginning And Beyond Child Development Center
A child care center in the heart of Raleigh that utilizes the best practices in unique ways to support the social and emotional well-being of their students.

Families Together, A PLM Organization
Families Together is the largest nonprofit in Wake County dedicated to permanently housing families experiencing homelessness.
They redesigned their outdoor spaces to create more opportunities for families to spend time together.

Crosby-Garfield Community Center
Crosby-Garfield Center currently houses two pre-k education facilities, Head Start and Learning Together the SPACES program for teens and Social and Economic Vitality staff.
The renovation has been planned for two connecting outdoor areas that will be completed in phases.

The Salvation Army Of Wake County
One of the world's largest charitable and social service organizations, The Salvation Army has been serving the people of Wake County since 1887.

Washington Terrace, A DHIC Property
The Village at Washington Terrace provides 162 affordable apartment homes for families and individuals with household incomes at or below 60% of the area median income.
Kaleidoscope partnered with DHIC to design an outdoor space where residents could spend time together in a more natural setting.

Oak City Cares
Oak City Cares is a hub for connecting individuals and families who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness to coordinated services that create a path to stable housing and renewed hope.
Oak City cares created an indoor Family Recreation room for families visiting the center for services and is currently working on a outdoor family space.

Family Promise Of Wake County
Family Promise provides church-based emergency shelter and meals to Wake County families experiencing temporary homelessness. Other services include life-skills training, case management provided by social workers, a day center, and transitional housing.
Family Promise renovated an indoor room for intake and two outdoor spaces.

East Wake Education Foundation
The East Wake Education Foundation is a non-profit education program serving Eastern Wake County. In addition to advocating for our area schools, the Foundation has an early childhood initiative called Family and Child Enrichment Services.
Renovations were completed indoors. Small outdoor projects were also completed.

Millbrook Human Services Center
Millbrook Human Services Center (HSC) provides various services for children, youth, and adults.
HSC created a space in their lobby with children and their caregivers in mind. The space provides seating that can support both children and adults, providing relationship-building opportunities.

Wake County Northern Regional Center
The Wake County Northern Regional Center provides many services to Wake residents, including families and children.
Play kits were provided for family visitations for families in the foster care system. In addition, the lobby area was rethought.

Wake County Human Services: Swinburne
The Swinburne Building is part of Wake County's Human Services campus. They provide many services, including visitations for families in the foster care system.
Play kits were created to provide activities for families to engage with during foster care visitations.
